Let’s Finalize Bicycle Lanes

367

The Board of Directors of the Eastern Monmouth Area Chambers of Commerce (“EMACC”) has recently adopted a resolution endorsing the completion of dedicated bicycles lanes linking the towns of Fair Haven, Rumson, Sea Bright, Monmouth Beach, Oceanport, Little Silver, and Red Bank.
The Board of EMACC strongly believes that a dedicated bicycle path will be a benefit not only to the overall fitness of the resident, but also to the numerous small businesses in the involved towns. Many of the most admired cities and towns across America have dedicated bicycle lanes. Monmouth County, long recognized as a very desirable community to reside in, should join these desirable communities, and maintain its prominence.
The EMACC Board believes that representatives from Monmouth County, along with the leaders of the involved towns should work together to achieve this ver y impor tant improvement to our area. The few obstacles identified thus far do not seem insurmountable. Every effort should be made to get this open to the cycling public before the end of the summer season.
The Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce applauds Mayor Ben Luccarelli and the leadership of the other towns who are behind this initiative and encourage the Board of Freeholders to work swiftly to finalize the bicycle lanes.
