Frances Mary Ley, of Middletown, passed away on May 26. Frances was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on April 30, 1916 weighing only 2 pounds at birth. Her fighting spirit kept her going to see her 100th birthday. Frances and her husband, Edmund resided in Basking Ridge before settling in Middletown in 1962. After raising a family, Frances returned to work. She was founder of Sincerely Yours Secretarial Service in Red Bank and later served as Office Manager for Confex, Inc. of Shrewsbury retiring in 1991. Together, “Fran and Ed” built a beautiful life together, treasuring their home and family. Her children have been blessed by her enduring love and affection that she was able to express in countless ways. Her long life was truly a gift to us all.

Frances is survived by her children and their spouses, Trudi Jensen of Jupiter, Florida, Edmund and Ary Ley of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Cathy and Dennis Chamberlain of Middletown, Thomas and Daryl Ley of Spring Lake, and Robert and Maylee Ley of Brookline, Massachusetts; her 10 grandchildren, David, James, Matthew, Meredith, Wesley, Adrienne, Cooper, Ben, Rebecca and Jackson; and her great-grandchild, Lynn.

Frances was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edmund J. Ley in 2009 and her parents John and Gertrude (nee Reilly) Widmer.
