This year the Lincroft Village Green Association has renewed its mission to bring the community together to enhance the quality of life in the village of Lincroft.
We have a growing village with new housing developments being built in the area. It is our wish to keep our community safe and beautiful, while welcoming the hundreds of new residents who will be moving here over the next few years. With fresh ideas from new directors and guidance from our tenured ones, we are ready to welcome new families, as well as reconnect with long-standing members.
In March, we held our first Community Egg Hunt at The Green, gathering over 200 residents. It was a wonderful way to meet new members of the community and celebrate Spring. Over 120 children hunted for eggs, got a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny, met live rabbits from the 4-H Club, and played games. We could not have done it without the help of several Middletown High School South students who volunteered their time to make the day successful.
The LVGA is striving to give more volunteer opportunities to our young residents. With that goal in mind, we are inviting volunteers of all ages to join us at The Village Green for “Clean the Green Day” on Saturday, April 30 at 10:00 am. We will be picking up garbage, planting a tree to celebrate Arbor Day, and sprucing up the bocce court.
We also will be decorating The Green with pink ribbons and flowers in support of “Paint the Town Pink”. It’s our first year as a Pink Partner and look forward to helping this organization stress the importance of yearly mammograms.
We have also established two $500 scholarships to be awarded to MHSS seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to bettering the Lincroft community.
We are having a “Dine for Dollars” fundraiser at Melody’s Café in Lincroft on Wednesday, May 11 from 4pm- 9pm. Melody’s will donate 15% of the proceeds to the scholarship fund. Gather your friends and come out for a delicious meal for a great cause.
We also have another exciting fundraiser planned: our first-ever food truck fest! The event will be at Brookdale Community College on Friday, June 17 from 4:30 – 9:00 pm. More details to come!
And of course, we invite everyone to come to our 12th Annual Lincroft Yard Sale Day on April 23, from 8:00am – 3:00pm, rain or shine. Come to Lincroft and meet LVGA members and shop for bargains at over 40 homes across the village. Check our website for a complete list of addresses on Friday after 6pm.
