LITTLE SILVER – The Little Silver PTO will be holding the 21st annual Little Silver 5K Run and Kids’ Races on Oct. 5, 2014 at Red Bank Regional High School, 101 Ridge Road.
The event raises money for the PTO to use to fund various programs and equipment for the district’s two schools.
The Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run will be held at 8:45 a.m. on the RBR track. The 5K will start at 9:30 a.m. and the Kiddie Dashes for children who are pre-K through grade 4, will be held at the conclusion of the 5K.
The post-race party will be held at the Little Silver Firehouse and will include food, drinks, music and activities for kids.
New for 2014 with be cash prizes of $100, $50 and $25 for the top three overall male and female finishers. There will be prizes for the top three in all five age groups up to 80-plus and for the 1st place male and female Little Silver residents. Medals will be awarded to all children participating in kiddie dashes and 1-mile fun run.
Registration is open at www.LittleSilver5K.com. Fees are $30 for the 5K until Sept. 30 and $35 thereafter and $15 for the Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run until Sept. 29 and $20 after that date.
