Little Silver Student to Perform Solo in ‘Nutcracker’

LITTLE SILVER – Jaimie Berube, 16, of Little Silver, will join world-renowned dancers when she performs the soloist roles of Harlequin and Toy Soldier in this year’s full-length production of “The Nutcracker” with the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble.

Internationally acclaimed dancers Christina Dooling, Mark Caserta, Rosemary Sabovick-Bleich, Joseph Fritz, Bradley Shelver, Ricardo Zayas and Darwin Black, from such renowned dance companies as Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, NJ Ballet, Shen Wei Dance Arts and TU Dance, join the ensemble for three performances – at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 – at the Wilkins Theatre at Kean University, 1000 Morris Ave., Union.
Jaimie, a junior at Red Bank Regional High School, will also be dancing the roles of Snowflake, Spanish and Rose Waltz.
Jaimie has been dancing with New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble since 2005, and previously appeared in the roles of Party Boy, Russian and Bon Bon.
New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble is known throughout New Jersey and the New York metro region as one of the premier pre-professional ballet and modern dance companies.
The 43rd annual production of Tchaikovsky’s classic “The Nutcracker” is choreographed by New Jersey Dance Ensemble Artistic Director Nancy Turano and features dancers ages 7-18.
