Lung Health Talk Slated for May 7

LONG BRANCH – Monmouth Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, and the American Lung Association of New Jersey will host the monthly meeting of the Adult Pulmonary Support Group from 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, May 7, in the hospital’s Joel Opatut Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Education Room.
Open to adults with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), emphysema, asthma or chronic asthma or bronchitis and their loved ones, the session will feature guest speaker Loki Skylizard, M.D., who will be speaking on the topic “Lung Health – Saving Lives Through Early Detection.” He is chief of thoracic surgery, director of minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgery, and assistant program director of the General Surgery Residency at Monmouth Medical Center.  A recent addition to Monmouth Medical Center and Barnabas Health Medical Group, Skylizard has extensive medical and surgical experience. Prior to joining Barnabas Health, he served as the sole community thoracic surgeon providing minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgical services in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
