William G. A. “Sam” Lutz, 52, of Hamilton, passed away at home on Saturday, August 29. Born in New York City, Mr. Lutz was raised in Rumson before moving to Hamilton to raise his family. Sam was a graduate of New England College. He was a vice president at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America. Sam was a deeply devoted and loving husband and father. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a gentle, witty, intelligent and kind man.
Sam was predeceased by his father, William Austell Lutz. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Kelly H. (Gardner) Lutz; his son, William P. Lutz; his mother, Mary Frances (Champion) Lutz-Nakagama; his sisters, Leslie Tuthill and Linda (Stephen) Walbridge; his brother, Lindsay (Loren) Lutz; his father and mother-in-law, James and Hallie Gardner; his sisters-in-law, Hallie Gardner and Carrie Coan and her husband, Michael; his brother-in-law, James Gardner; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 3 at 11:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home. At the family’s request the burial will be private.
