MANASQUAN – Manasquan Savings Bank, a community bank with a 140-year history serving Monmouth and Ocean counties, has announced a four-year commitment to the Algonquin Arts Theatre totaling $100,000.
The funding package, beginning with the 2014-2015 season, is to be the first issued by the bank’s recently formed private charitable giving arm, the Manasquan Bank Charitable Foundation, Inc.
“Since its inception in 1992, Algonquin Arts Theatre has been an inspiring source of creative programming that enriches the lives of Jersey Shore residents,” President and CEO James S. Vaccaro said. “They perform precisely the kind of work that we intend to support through our newly created foundation, and we are thrilled to partner with such an amazing neighbor and community-focused organization.”
A portion of the funding pledge is earmarked for capital improvements to the theater, including new seating, which will be completed prior to the start of the new season.
Structural enhancements also are being implemented as part of The Campaign for Algonquin Arts Theatre, with additional infrastructure projects planned for upcoming months.
Funding will include a role for the bank as the first-ever title sponsor for the Algonquin Arts Theatre’s popular annual Broadway Series of live theater productions. The Broadway Series will kick off Oct. 24 with a production of “Annie Get Your Gun,” starring Broadway actor Carter Calvert. Upcoming shows also include “South Pacific” and “The Glass Menagerie.”
