Mental Health Association’s Viva La Vida Event is Saturday

SHREWSBURY – The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County’s Fall Celebracíon, Viva La Vida will be held  Saturday, Nov. 15, at Raven & the Peach on River Road in Fair Haven.
Guests will enjoy a Spanish themed-menu with tapas and stations, sangria, open bar, silent auction and entertainment by The Haven.
Tickets are $150. Proceeds from the event will support MHA’s free programs and services that are available to all families in Monmouth County.
Ramon Solhkhah, M.D., chairman of psychiatry at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and corporate medical director of Meridian Behavioral Health Services, is being honored for his efforts to advocate, educate and treat those affected by mental illness and drug addiction in Monmouth County. Solhkhah has participated in numerous forums throughout Monmouth County where he offered information and outlined treatment options for those addicted to heroin and prescription painkillers.
Solhkhah’s dedication to not only treating individuals, but educating area communities is greatly respected by MHA, as his efforts continue to fight the discrimination that surrounds mental illness. His actions and commitment embody MHA’s mission of promoting mental health and wellness and improving the care and treatment of persons affected by mental illness.
Members of the event committee are MHA Foundation Board members and co-chairs Nancy Pearson and Donna Crosson of Rumson; MHA Foundation Board members Ernesto Cullari of Asbury Park, Stacey Donovan of Middletown, Ruth Palacio of Fair Haven, Foundation Board President George Whitelaw of Locust; MHA Operating Board Members, Joan Konopka of Toms River; and Operating Board Vice President Susan Tellone-McCoy of Manasquan. Other members of the committee are MHA Executive Director Wendy DePedro of Belmar, Linda Baxendale of Manasquan, Patti Bossone of Manasquan, Abbi Finch of Holmdel and Pedro Trivella of Asbury Park.
