Middletown Arts Center to Host Family Arts Fest, Open House

MIDDLETOWN – The Middletown Arts Center (MAC) invites families to explore the arts during its free Family Arts Festival and Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 2.
The MAC is located at 36 Church St. and offers classes, events and community programming for all ages and abilities.
Guests will be entered in several free drawings for gift cards, which are good for MAC events and classes throughout 2014. The event is free and preregistration is not required.

Hundreds of families from Middletown and surrounding communities are anticipated to join the MAC for its seventh annual open house. Attendees will enjoy a day filled with free nonstop arts action that includes sampling the MAC’s professional classes for adults and children, preregistration for Spring classes and its popular Summer Arts Camp, live music and performances, and tours of the 23,000 square-foot facility that includes a theater, gallery, classrooms, artist and dance studio, and computer room.
Highlights from the children’s activities include cartooning with the Doodle Dude, LEGO® building with Bricks 4 Kids, dance with Miss Deena, arts and crafts with Miss Laurie, Club Mac with Miss Maria, Broadway theater with Theresa Fowler, music with Miss Sherri, and more. New spring classes include Create-a-Cartoon and video game design with the Emmy-winning Small Factory Productions. Adults can also sample classes in water coloring, stained glass window making, guitar, gentle yoga, ballroom dancing and tai chi.
