Middletown North Students Awarded Donoghue Music Scholarships

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – Two Middletown High School North seniors are this year’s recipients of the Eric P. Donoghue Foundation’s music scholarships.
The scholarships were awarded to Jamie Waggner and Emily Hocheiser and are intended for high school students who wish to pursue music careers.
Waggner and Hocheiser bring the number of students to received the scholarship to 24. The scholarship was named in memory of Donoghue, who died in 2003 at age 32. He was raised in Atlantic Highlands, graduated Henry Hudson Regional High School and attended the Berklee College of Music, Boston.
The foundation is administered by Peter E. Donoghue, Eric’s father, a former Atlantic Highlands mayor.
Waggner will attend Rowan University to pursue a degree in musical education with hopes of teaching. Hocheiser will be going to Ramapo College and will major in psychology and minor in music. She intends to become a music therapist.
