LONG BRANCH – Monmouth Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, recently announced that it has become a member of the Penn Cancer Network.
Membership in the network provides Monmouth Medical Center with an affiliation with the world-renowned Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and a nationally recognized cancer treatment and research center. The Penn Cancer Network includes a select group of community and academic hospitals in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
As a part of the Penn Cancer Network, Monmouth Medical Center will expand patients’ access to cutting-edge cancer treatments and programs. In addition, the affiliation will augment clinical research programs available through the Leon Hess Cancer Center at Monmouth Medical Center by providing the ability to join clinical trials offered through Penn’s Clinical Research Program.
The partnership also offers physicians and faculty members at Monmouth Medical Center, a designated teaching hospital cancer center, the opportunity to join the Penn Medicine faculty in a wide range of educational programs sponsored by Penn’s Abramson Cancer Center.
