LONG BRANCH – Monmouth Medical Center recently hosted a plaque dedication ceremony in appreciation of Gloria and Len Nilson’s contribution toward the renovation of the hospital’s main lobby.
“Our lobby serves as the beginning of a pathway to healing experienced by hundreds of thousands of patients and visitors upon entering the hospital,” said Frank J. Vozos, MD, FACS, president and chief executive officer, Monmouth Medical Center. “We are extremely grateful for the generosity of our longtime friends and supporters, Gloria and Len Nilson, whose donation is allowing us to create a space that much more accurately portrays the quality and excellence that patients discover when they come to Monmouth Medical Center.”
The lobby renovation is part of a modernization plan across the Monmouth Medical Center campus that is revitalizing a number of areas, including operating rooms, the emergency department, the Leon Hess Cancer Center, the Hirair and Anna Hovnanian Foundation Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Eisenberg Family Center, as well as supporting a move to private inpatient rooms.
“It is through the dedication of our trustees that we are able to create a culture of philanthropy, raise the profile of the Foundation and ensure our fundraising goals are achieved to support Monmouth Medical Center,” said Tara Kelly, vice president of the Monmouth Medical Center Foundation. “We gather today to express our gratitude to one of our trustees, Gloria Nilson and her husband, Lennart, and celebrate their gift to name an elevator here in our main lobby.”
