LINCROFT – The Monmouth Museum is featuring through Jan. 5 an exhibition called “Artists Celebrate the Holidays.”
For centuries, artists have expressed their feelings and observations about the holiday season in their art.
This exhibition features a wide representation of holiday celebrations from traditional scenes to contemporary works and installations.
Artworks in the exhibition include Sven Widen’s “New Year’s Eve’ (oil on canvas), Flo Schell’s “Madonna and Child” (acrylic), Naomi Geller Lipsky’s “Menorah Embossing” (aluminum, 23k gold, copper) and Marion Z. Costa’s “Tree of Hope – Union Beach – December 14, 2012” (archival print).
A holiday tree decorated with an art theme by the Friends of the Museum completes this festive display.
Monmouth Museum is located on the Brookdale Community College campus, 765 Newman Springs Road.
