MIDDLETOWN – The Monmouth Players never cease to be proud during its nearly 60 years of serving the Bayshore area as one of the preeminent community theaters.
The Players has never forgotten what they truly are – a community theater. The company has relied on the community for support for six decades and now in the face of what will surely turn out to be one of the most devastating natural disasters in history, the Monmouth Players will be giving back.
Monmouth Players is hosting a second phase of the Hurricane Sandy Relief Benefit – A Talent for Giving. The group will be presenting a radio play of It’s a Wonderful Life at 8:15 p.m. Dec. 7-8 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.
The play will be presented free for all those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Others are welcome to join. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.
Several local actors will be performing the play including Charlie Deitz, Samantha Maidlow, John Sheehan, Cody Dalton, Bob Mira, Heather Kelly, Robert Kern, Bill Rogers, Daria Cefalo and Kevin Vislocky with audio engineer Paul Renick and sound foley by Lori Renick.
Monmouth Players is located at the Navesink Library Theater at the corner of Sears and Monmouth avenues in the Navesink section of Middletown.
