Geraldine Mount Morris of Eatontown passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 19 after a brief illness. She was born at home in Atlantic Highlands in 1927 and lived in Shrewsbury most of her life.

Geraldine was a graduate of St. Agnes Elementary (1941) and Red Bank Catholic High School (1945), where she lettered in softball and basketball and participated in school plays. She attended Washington School for Secretaries in New York and worked for Central Railroad of NJ. After raising six children she received her associate degree from Brookdale Community College in 1993.

She volunteered with Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops 50 and 250 in Shrewsbury. She was a member of Al-Anon and assisted with substance abuse prevention efforts. She was an active member of St. James Parish and she distributed food for the poor and helped decorate the church at Christmas. She traveled to many countries, including Ireland, England, France, Italy, Israel and Egypt.

She loved the beach and the many valued friends she made at Tinton Woods, Monmouth Beach Bathing Pavilion, Little Silver and Red Bank Seniors, the Shrewsbury Homesteaders and YMCA.

She was predeceased by her husband, Phillip L. Morris; son, Stephen J. Morris; parents, Charles R. and Eleanor Pettit Mount of Atlantic Highlands; and sisters, Jeanne Kruger and Joyce Manley. Geraldine is survived by her children, Jacqueline Mack and her husband, Edward of Eatontown; Kathleen M. Gaffey of Atlantic Highlands; Phillip P. Morris of Oceanport; Geraldine A. Morris of Eatontown; Chuck Morris and his partner, Steven Waynick of Chicago; grandson William H. Gaffey of Atlantic Highlands; and beloved granddog Gracie.

Visitation was held at John Day Funeral Home in Red Bank on April 22. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. James Church in Red Bank on April 23 with a burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
