NJ Rep Presents New Comedy: ‘Esther’s Moustache’

LONG BRANCH – The New Jersey Repertory Company will present the world premiere of Esther’s Moustache by Laurel Ollstein in December.
Esther’s Moustache which began preview performances on Thursday, Dec. 13, will celebrate its opening night on Saturday, Dec. 15, at New Jersey Repertory Company at 179 Broadway. The show will run through Sunday, Jan. 13.

The story involves comic artist Maddie Steinberg whose life starts to get complicated when her grandmother Esther pops up uninvited with a trunk full of family photos and warm potato latkes. When Maddie falls for a hot messenger guy who just happens to be German, things get even more surreal in this darkly comic play about love, sex, heritage and letting go.
The cast of Esther’s Moustache includes Burt Grinstead, Uma Incrocci, Catherine LeFrere, and Jim Shankman.
The production design team includes director Laurel Ollstein, Jessica Parks, who is handling set design and props, Jill Nagle as lighting designer, Merek Royce Press as sound designer, costumer designer Patricia E. Doherty, technical director David Cruse and stage manager Jennifer Tardibuono..
Previews for Esther’s Moustache will be staged at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14 and 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15. Opening night will be 8 p.m. Dec. 15. Regular performances are scheduled 2 p.m. Thursdays; 3 p.m. Sundays and 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays through Jan. 13.
