LONG BRANCH – The world premiere of “Dinner With The Boys” by Dan Lauria will be performed Sept. 11 through Oct. 5 at the New Jersey Repertory Company, 179 Broadway.
Lauria, star of TV’s “The Wonder Years” and “Sullivan & Son” as well as Broadway’s ”Lombardi” and the musical, “A Christmas Story,” has penned a “killer comedy” about a couple of old-time wiseguys who just want to have a good Italian meal, a few laughs and tie-up some loose ends before dessert.
The cast includes Lauria, Ray Abruzzo, who played Little Carmine Lupertazzi on HBO’s “The Sopranos,” and stage and screen veteran Richard Zavaglia, who appeared in “Donnie Brasco” with Al Pacino and Johnny Depp.
“Dinner With The Boys,” directed by Frank Megna, begins preview performances on Thursday, Sept. 11. Opening night is Saturday, Sept. 13. The production team includes: Jessica Parks, set design and props; Jill Nagle, lighting; Merek Royce Press, sound design; Patricia E. Doherty, costumes; Michael Carroll, technical director, and Jennifer Tardibuono, stage manager.
