John T. Noonan Jr. “Putt-Putt.” 81, of Fair Haven, passed away peacefully at Riverview Medical Center on March 9, of acute leukemia and metatastic melanoma. John was the son of John T. and Daisy Noonan. He was raised in Rumson and was a resident of Fair Haven for 55 years. John was a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven and a member of the Sandlass Beach Club.

John was a graduate of Rumson High School, playing varsity football and track, and competing in championship events. John Served his country in the 644th Tank Battalion of the New Jersey National Guard.

John was employed as chief lineman at Jersey Central Power & Light and retired after 42 years of service. John was also employed for many years at Fort Monmouth. In retirement John was a starter and ranger at Bamm Hollow Country Club.

He enjoyed spending time with family and playing golf with his lifelong friend Trigger Lane of Oceanport. John was a lifelong golfer and NY Giants Fan.

John was predeceased by his wife, Carol Smith Noonan in 2005. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Stangler and her husband Robert M. and Kathryn Hines and her husband, Gregory, both of Neptune City and his son, John T. Noonan III of Fair Haven; Karen Perry of Toms River; his grandchildren, James Noonan of Fair Haven, Kathryn Stangler Knight and her husband Robert J. Knight III of Rome, New York, Jack Stangler, Heather Healy of Neptune City, Lindsay Hines and Eric Kolb of Neptune, Ken Hines of Waretown and Taylor Hines of Danbury, Connecticut; a great-granddaughter, Elise V. Knight of Rome, New York; and a great-grandson, Liam Hines of Neptune; and sisters, Elna Robinson, Wisconsin and Patricia McCormick of Freehold.
