Oceanfirst Foundation Awards $50,000 Grant to Monmouth University

The Oceanfirst Foundation of Toms River has awarded Monmouth University $50,000 for student scholarships. The grant provides scholarships for tuition, fees and books for full-time freshmen who graduated from high schools in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Scholarship recipients will each receive $2,500 awards.
President Gaffney stated: “Thank you to the OceanFirst Foundation for its generous support of Monmouth University and higher education. The scholarships help many exceptional students from the local area to achieve their dream of a college education.”
This is the second year that Monmouth University has participated in the scholarship program and has received $100,000 in total towards the scholarship program.
Founded in 1996, the Oceanfirst Foundation provides grants to organizations that meet community needs within the OceanFirst market area. In 2010, OceanFirst Foundation contributed more than $1 million to community initiatives and since its inception has contributed more than $21 million to over 60 local charities in Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties.
