William L. Onderdonk Jr., 82, of Casa Grande, Arizona, died on June 2 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Jersey City on July 25, 1933 to William L. and Mildred Onderdonk, and was a longtime resident of Rumson, attending Holy Cross School, Red Bank Catholic High School, Peddie School and Monmouth College. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1952 to 1954.

Mr. Onderdonk spent 40 years in the publishing industry, specializing in magazine distribution in NYC and Washington, D.C. He worked for many years at Kiplinger Washington Editors as Newsstand Sales Director of Changing Times magazine and Kiplinger Books.

Mr. Onderdonk was an ardent sailor and a longtime member of the Severn River Yacht Club in Annapolis, Maryland, where he loved sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. After retiring to Arizona, he and his wife Anne lived the RV dream of touring North America in their motorhome.

Survivors include his wife, Anne T. Taylor; son Mark W. Onderdonk; grandson Brady Landon; nephews George H. Moss III and William D. Moss; nieces Tamire A. McKenna and Elizabeth A. Silva. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Alice (Mrs. George H. Moss Jr.) and Patricia (Mrs. Shepard L. Alexander), as well as his daughter Lauren A. Landon.

There will be a memorial service at a future date in the Chapel at Arlington National Cemetery, followed by inurnment with military honors.
