Mary A. Ondrey (nee: Senkow), 91, of Eatontown, passed away on Saturday, September 24. Beloved wife of the late Paul Ondrey, who predeceased her in 1950. Loving mother of Andrew Ondrey. Cherished sister of Frances Duffy, Michael Senko, Andrew Senkow and the late Walter Senkow, Joseph Senko, John Senkow and Josephine Senkow Thomas.

Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Born and raised in Braddock, Pennsylvania to the late Michael and Anna Senkow, she met the love of her life, Paul who was a sergeant first class in the Army Signal Corps, having served in World War II and Korea. They married in 1941 and his service brought them to Fort Monmouth in Eatontown, where they settled in 1948.

Mary has been parishioner of St. Dorothea’s since 1949. During her time at the parish, she was a Member of the Guild for many years. Mary was a member of the Gold Star Wives of America, Inc. since 1950, and served as president of the Monmouth Chapter for many years. She also served as member and president of the VFW Auxiliary Post #438 Red Bank for many years before its closure.

Mary spent many years volunteering at the VA Hospital in East Orange. She also worked for over 38 years in accounting at the Naval Ammunitions Depot – Earle in Colts Neck.

Mary was a dedicated volunteer and devoted mother and Godmother who was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
