Seymour T. Pappas, 92, of Holmdel, died on Saturday, November 12. From his birth on August 4, 1924 to his death on Saturday he offered everyone a smile, a joke and a kind word.
He was born in New York City to Theodore and Frances (Rosh) and was the younger of two boys. His beloved brother, Michael, predeceased him.
He graduated from Perth Amboy High School and joined the Merchant Marines in 1945 where he learned photography. He started his own business Pappas Studios in Keyport and enjoyed every day of his over 50 years of taking pictures.
He married Elizabeth (Ellison) in February 1950 and they enjoyed a long and happy marriage, living in Holmdel until her death in January 1993. Left to honor and remember Seymour are his two children and their spouses, Linda and Joe and Ted and Lauri; his grandchildren and their spouses, Kaleigh and Grey, Chelsea, Sarah and Wade and Michael; his sister-in-law, Anne; his niece, Pam and her husband Bob; and many other well-loved nieces and nephews.
Bedle Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements. Seymour’s most special companions were his dogs, Reese and Jessie.
