Catherine M. Pease (Rice), 78, of Middletown, died peace- fully at home on Saturday, June 20 with her loving family present. Catherine was born in Newark to the late Anna and Joseph Rice. She was a longtime resident of Hillside, NJ before moving to Middletown 16 years ago. She was employed by Eastern Airlines as a reservation agent in Woodbridge for many years, then later worked for Kiwi Airlines. In Hillside, Kitty served as court clerk and was a member of the Board of Education for nine years. Active with the Shadow Lake Village Socializers in Middletown, she enjoyed participating in many “Fabulous Fakes” productions and coor- dinated numerous trips and outings for village residents. She was a member of the Republican Club. Catherine was prede- ceased by her husband, Earl T. Pease; her sisters, Mary Dalke, Theresa James, Eleanor Hagel and Anne Rudomanski; and her broth- ers, William, Joseph and Charles Rice. She is survived by her son, Douglas Pease and his wife Mary Ann; as well as her loving grandsons, Sean and Gregory Pease; many devoted nieces and nephews; and her dear friend and companion Clay Pratt. Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 24 at the Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, June 25 at St. James R.C. Church, Red Bank.
