Catherine Perciaccante, 68, of Union Beach, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 13 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. She was born Catherine Donaruma on November 30, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Hazlet. After marriage, she moved to New York for a few years, and returned to Monmouth County.
Catherine was an avid gardener, very artistic and loved all things oriental. Catherine’s family raved about her delicious lasagna and eggplant, which were two of her best dishes. She always enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.
She was a one-of-a-kind woman, who marched to the beat of her own drum and was always up for a party and having a good time. Above all else, Catherine was extremely dedicated to her family, most of all her children, whom she loved with all of her heart.
She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Josephine (Carucci) Donaruma. She is survived by her loving children, Dawn Perciaccante, Tania Perciaccante and Mike Perciaccante, all of Union Beach; her cherished siblings, Mary Joan Werbalis and her husband, Henry, of Cape Coral, Florida, Ben Donaruma and his wife, Gail, of Millsboro, Delaware, and Angela Hardie and her husband, Don, of Holmdel. She is also survived by her dear nieces and nephews, Robert Werbalis, Jennifer Pezantes, Joann Werbalis, Tracey Kiernan, Michael Donaruma and Brian Hardie; her adored grand-doggies, Miya and Kodo; and many special extended family members and friends.
