Mary S. Pettit, 99, of Jackson, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Feb. 15. She was born in Red Bank to the late August and Mary (Jackson) Soffel. Mary retired in 1979 from the Monmouth County Board of Social Services in Freehold. She was a member of the Senior Monday Morning Bowling League for many years at Monmouth Lanes in West Long Branch.
She is predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Thomas A. Pettit Jr. in 1986. Surviving are her daughter, M. Kathleen Morgan of New Hope, Pennsylvania; and her son, T. Michael Pettit and his wife Marcia A. Pettit of Jackson.
John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements. The family will celebrate Mary’s life at a later date.
