American Pharoah – The Next Race – It's Saratoga

674

The horse that thrilled more than 60,000 fans winning the William Hill Haskell Invitational in a romp at Monmouth Park Aug. 2, will show his stuff Saturday, Aug. 29 against some old foes and some new ones at the 146th running of the Grade 1 Travers – the late-summer classic – at Saratoga race track.
Where American Pharoah would run next was answered Sunday, Aug. 23 when trainer Bob Baffert and the thoroughbred’s New Jersey owner Ahmed Zayat announced the Triple Crown winning super horse would battle other top three-year-olds at the Travers. The decision was made following the horse’s last workout in California where he was breezed at Del Mar, his home track north of San Diego.
The New York Racing Association has announced the race sold out (50,000 people) and advised racing fans without tickets not to look for admission at the gate for the event with a $1.6 million purse.
