Edward P. Power, 84, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 1, at Bayshore Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Holmdel. Edward was born on July 20, 1931 in Ferryland, Newfoundland, Canada, and lived the majority of his life in Brooklyn, New York. In 2000, he settled in Hazlet, with his wife, Anna. Before retiring, he worked as an Iron Worker for Local #361 in New York City. While living in Hazlet, Edward was a devout parishioner of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Holmdel, where he was also a member of the “9 O’clockers.” He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Ita (Clowe) Power, his brother, Vincent Power, and his sister-in-law, Josephine Power. Edward is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Anna Power; his loving children, Michael Power and his wife, Marianne, of Rahway, Joseph Power and his wife, Peggy, of Staten Island, Gary Power and his wife, Marion, of Rhode Island, Robert Power and his wife, Diane, of Old Bridge, Gerard Power and his spouse, Michael Kerr, of Keyport, and Maureen Lane and her husband, Vincent, of Hazlet. Edward is also survived by his dear siblings, Caroline Osher of Whiteplains, New York, Rita Sheehan of Newfoundland, Canada, and Joseph Power of Newfoundland, Canada, along with 14 cherished grandchildren, and 19 adored great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
