Prevention First Offering Free Responsible Bartending Training

WEST LONG BRANCH – Prevention First is offering Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS), free responsible bartender training, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Monmouth University, 400 Cedar Ave., in Wilson Hall, Room 104.
Training is open to owners and employees of Monmouth County restaurants, hotels, bars and nightclubs with liquor licenses and helps to prevent alcohol misuse and illegal sales to underage youth.
Strategies covered will include staying on top of the latest trends in false identifications, developing innovative strategies to prevent selling alcohol to underage customers, understanding the legal and social consequences of serving underage youth and helping to protect the community. Participants will also learn about the HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers®, which seeks to end drunk driving tragedies nationwide by promoting the use of safe and sober designated drivers.
The training is sponsored by the Prevention Coalition of Monmouth County and Monmouth University.
