Professor’s Paintings on Display at BCC Gallery

LINCROFT – Paintings by Sid Godwin, who recently retired after 36 years as a professor of studio arts at Brookdale Community College, will be on exhibit through Oct. 5 at the Center for the Visual Arts Gallery on the main campus on Newman Springs Road.

“Bridging the Gap” is a painting by Sid Godwin now on exhibit at Brookdale Community College.

Godwin has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Fine Arts from Rutgers University. He has exhibited his works, many of which are pastoral, serene views of regional areas, at such venues as the Cornwall Gallery and the Griffin McGere Gallery in New York City.  Godwin’s works have been purchased and are in the private collections of the Chrysler Museum and Pfizer Corp., among others.
An opening reception for the one-man show will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7. It is free and open to all.
