RED BANK –  Over the past 5 years Red Bank Catholic has been inspired to host their own Make-a-Wish Carnival in their own backyard. They host the carnival to raise money for “Jason’s Dreams for Kids,” which is a foundation for children that has serious medical conditions.
Ashleigh Kennedy, an environmental science teacher in charge of the Make-a-Wish carnival said the festival is growing due to its popularity.
Her fifth-grade daughter, Kasey, was a “wish child.” Kasey’s wish was to grant wishes, so she started the fair to fundraise and grant wishes for other foundations.
This year, Red Bank Catholic raised $13,429 for charity with the carnival.
Approximately 400 people attended the carnival, run by 76 volunteers.  With 12 different carnival game booths the children enjoyed themselves, playing some of the classics such as “knock the can down,” and the fishing game. This year a rock wall and mechanical rides were added to the carnival.
