RED BANK – The Red Bank Regional (RBR) Buc Backer Foundation announced its formation as a new nonprofit entity dedicated to supporting Red Bank Regional High School.
The new “Buc Backer” Foundation is the result of the merger of four existing RBR support groups including the Parent Teacher Organization, the Education Foundation, the Booster Club and the Visual & Performing Arts Parent Group.
“We realized that by combining our efforts, we could have a greater positive impact,” said Paul Noglows, acting president of the new group.
The Buc Backer Foundation is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the whole high school experience for all students. The group is primarily made up of parent volunteers all of whom are united for excellence, opportunity and cooperation at RBR.
“We will carry on each group’s signature events and activities, but now with a coordinated effort and more efficiency,” said Beth McLoone, who will lead the group’s events committee.
Planned activities include things such as SAT boot camps, the annual ladies’ luncheon, the Buc Backer Bash, Day at the Races, teacher appreciation events and the annual Sunday Showcase concert.
“The business community has been incredibly supportive of the various RBR fundraising groups, and we think that by combining our efforts under one nonprofit, we can be more cognizant of that and make it easier for them to support the high school,” said Barbara Kirkpatrick, who will handle marketing for the group.
