Redford Film to be Shown as Monmouth Arts Fundraiser

RED BANK – The Monmouth County Arts Council will premiere the film The Company You Keep, directed by Robert Redford, at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Clearview Cinema, 36 White St.
The film and reception are sponsored by Springpoint Foundation and provided to Monmouth Arts through the generosity of Tom Bernard, co-chair of Sony Pictures Classics and Clearview Cinema.
A reception will be held between the two showings from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. at Readies Fine Foods, 39 Broad St.
The Company You Keep is a gripping political thriller about a young journalist (Shia LaBeouf) who stumbles upon the story of his career when he uncovers the identity of a wanted ex-radical activist (Redford) who has been underground for five decades. The film also stars Julie Christie, Sam Elliott, Brendan Gleeson, Terrence Howard, Richard Jenkins, Anna Kendrick, Brit Marling, Stanley Tucci, Nick Nolte, Chris Cooper and Susan Sarandon. The Company You Keep was the gala presentation film at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The event is a fundraiser to support the programs and services of Monmouth Arts which include: the Monmouth Teen Arts Festival for student artists; the Arts Education Awards that recognize the important contribution of arts educators; workshops for artists and arts organizations, programs and services for more than 75 arts organizations and hundreds of artists; the website www.monmoutharts.org that links to audiences to arts events; and ArtHelps.
