WEST LONG BRANCH – Congressman Rush Holt, D-12, will be the keynote speaker at Monmouth University’s spring commencement ceremony and receive an honorary doctor of science degree.

The event will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J. More than 1,000 graduates will participate in the ceremony.

He serves on the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Natural Resources, where he is the ranking member on the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources, developing long-term strategies to decrease dependence on fossil fuels.
