Although Dickens lived and wrote in the Victorian era, his masterpiece transcends his time, language and culture. The Tower Players invite the public to be part of the celebration and start the holidays with the time-honored story of redemption and kindness.
Even though Dickens died in 1870 his novels and characters are more popular than ever. This is most certainly the case with Christmas Carol, written in 1843. Ebenezer Scrooge is literature’s most notorious miser whose heart is “locked up tighter than a cash box.” Scrooge must endure the visits by three spirits who remind him who he was and what he might yet become. He is given the chance to open up his heart and learn the true meaning of the season: that it’s never too late to make a new start. The famous tale of redemption for the most despised man in London will awaken your heart and rekindle your spirit as well.
The Tower Players invite the public to join them as they celebrate the life of Charles Dickens and the holiday season.
In the spirit of giving, The Tower Players will be collecting hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and personal care items in support of Holiday Express at each performance. Items may be dropped off at the main office or in the lobby during performances.
