Rose, Antenucci Receive Good Scout Award

RUMSON – Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts of America have presented two area residents with its Good Scout Award.
Kurt Kalafsky, president of the council, presented the Twin Lights District 2014 Eastern Monmouth Good Scout Award to Lynda Rose, president/COO Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce, and Donald R. Antenucci Sr., Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 140 in Middletown.
The award is given to those who exemplify the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America, and for their outstanding contributions to Scouting and/or service and leadership to the community.
The honorees were recognized during a reception at the Salt Creek Grille in Rumson, attended by more than130 guests from Monmouth County businesses, family, friends, Scouts and Scouting representatives.
The event raised more than $18,000 to support Scouting programs in Monmouth County.
Previous Good Scout honorees include: Jan L. Wouters, Bathgate, Wegener & Wolf, in 2013; Richard R. Hough III, Silvercrest Asset Management, in 2012; Webster B. Trammell, Brookdale Community College, in 2011;David S. Baker and Patricia A. Baker, R. Baker & Son, in 2010; Kim Guadagno, former Monmouth County sheriff and current New Jersey lieutenant governor, and and Brian Valentino, Patriot Consulting Group in 2009.
Monmouth Council, BSA has provided Scouting programs and services to the community since 1917. Currently more than 7,000 young people and more than 3,000 adult volunteers participate in Scouting programs such as Cub Scouts (boys 1st to 5th grade), Boy Scouts (boys ages 11 to 17), Venturing/Sea Scouts (coed ages 14-20), Career Exploring (coed ages 14-20).
