LITTLE SILVER — Borough police are advising residents to be aware of any suspicious behavior they may witness as police investigate a residential burglary occurring last weekend.
Either late last Saturday evening or early Sunday morning a Silverside Avenue residence was forcibly entered and jewelry was taken fro the residence, Chief Daniel Shaffery said.
The resident was home at the time but was unaware and undisturbed by the break-in, Shaffery said.
A Daniel Drive resident, however, contacted police at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday to report a barking dog. The resident reported seeing wearing dark clothing and carrying a ladder. The ladder was dropped in the bushes and the subject fled the scene, Shaffery said.
Police are asking anyone who observe anything deemed suspicious, such as strangers on a neighbor’s property or an unfamiliar car parked in the roadway, to contact them at (732) 747-5900.
