Cancers have an inner drive to nurture, so naturally they are attracted to people who need care. With this is mind, this moon child can sometimes become co-dependent and care too much.

Too much nurturing can result in resentment.

Also, anyone born after the 9th is born on the cusp of Cancer, Leo. This is a combination of sensitive and outspoken. It is a personality challenge for anyone.

The Cancer personality needs to address the feelings that often evolve when they overextend themselves.

Along with being caregivers, Cancers are sensitive, generous with their time, and sometimes moody. The moods happen because of their sensitive nature and their feelings are easily hurt. Dealing with a Cancer can be a delight or a challenge depending on the mood.

The moon child loves home and family. Cancers often enjoy collecting antiques and are sentimental. Anyone looking for a big family experience would be wise to find someone celebrating a birthday this week. Cancers always want a home and a family base and need someone to help them care for it.

People born this week: Milburn Stone, July 5, 1904; Janet Leigh, July 6, 1927; Ringo Starr, July 7, 1940; Jaden Smith, July 8, 1998; Tom Hanks, July 9, 1956; Jessica Simpson, July 10, 1980; Nadya Suleman, “Octomom,” July 10, 1975; Bill Cosby, July 11, 1937; Harrison Ford, July 12, 1942; and Jane Lynch, July 13, 1960.

We can look forward to the new moon experience on July 19, with the exception that we don’t want to start anything new since Mercury will be retrograde from July 14 at 10:16 p.m. to Aug. 8.

A quick reminder that the retrograde period is no time to begin a project or sign a contract. Anything started during that period always has a flaw or double challenge that can be avoided by waiting. Believe it or not, the early morning hours of Friday the 13th are the best hours of the week.

Aries (March 21 to April 20) The vibes of Uranus, the planet which forces change, will be strong for you on Friday the 13th, so expect the unexpected and there will be few surprises. This is no time to make promises or start a heavy friendship. It is time to patch up any foundering relationships that may be troubled.

Summer Jobs: Working in the Sun

Taurus (April 21 to May 20) This is no week for a fixed Taurus personality to try for flexibility. It would be good to accept things as they are right now and make your move in mid-August. If you are able to do that you will find plenty of new experiences coming your way. They just can’t be rushed. So relax and enjoy.

Gemini (May 21 to June 20) With Jupiter now in Gemini and Mars making nice vibes to your sun, your life should start looking really good. But it is your job to make plans, just don’t sign any contracts or make any promises until mid-August. If you make a move now, you won’t have as much success as you will if you wait.

Cancer (June 21 to July 20) Your confidence should be sky high this week. And because of it, you will be taking advantage of all opportunities coming your way. Look at any proposal but avoid making any decision until mid-August. Relationships both at work and home will improve as you become more and more aware of your responsibilities and act accordingly.

Leo (July 21 to August 20).You may have won a few arguments recently but don’t let it go to your head or you will lose the next venture. After all the new you is taking over and you need to let people get used to it. A new BFF could be extremely helpful. Slowly take advantage of any help offered, but don’t overdo.

Virgo (August 21 to September 20) An unexpected meeting could turn your romantic life around. Just don’t take it too seriously or too fast or you will find yourself once again upset. This is no time to promise anything to anyone. So it would be wise on your part to follow the rules of life or pay the penalty. Keep your feet on the ground and you will be fine.

Libra (September 21 to October 20) Get ready for some opportunity coming your way since Jupiter has entered Gemini and makes creative vibes to your sun. And then Mars has entered Libra. Good opportunities are coming your way. A new relationship could prove to be awesome. Don’t rush into anything.

Extra! Extra! Newsies Comes to Town

Scorpio (October 21 to November 20) You may feel the time has come to take a serious stand on some of your beliefs, but think again. Hold off on serious business and have some fun since this is not the time to get serious. A new pal could appear to be a soul mate but take it slow. Think good times, not uptight decisions.

Sagittarius (November 21 to December 20) Surprising news could head your way and you can expect a good time. You will become enlightened about your need for plenty of space and freedom. Make no long-term commitments. Just have fun. There could also be a short trip with important repercussions in your future.

Capricorn (December 21 to January 20) If you have an outstanding situation that needs your attention, take it on. Any upset can be settled in your favor. Take this opportunity to understand and then forget it and move on. Mars in Libra will help you bring things to a head. Anger costs you money and the time has come to let it go.

Aquarius (January 21 to February 20)  You could find a pal interested in a more serious relationship but it would be wise to have a long talk. You want to see where you really stand on the matter. With Jupiter in Gemini and Mars in Libra, you are headed to a period where life will be in your favor. All your work on yourself should start paying off big time. So let go of your fears.

Pisces (February 21 to March 20) This is a time to remember it is best to forgive and forget. You are becoming much more intuitive and should try and listen to your heart. A new friend could use some of your wise words. With Jupiter in Gemini, it would benefit you to avoid overindulging yourself. Be sure to listen to what folks are telling you. Some of it may be fairytales.
