Capricorn people are driven by their strong need to control, to be in charge and to be number one in life. Since they tend to have brilliant minds and self-control and are responsible, they usually succeed at reaching the top in their field. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and is a cardinal sign, so these folks have drive unlike most people.

They are willing to forego instant gratification in an effort to reach their long-term goal, which is always the power and control success can bring.

Examples of the drive Capricorn displays would be seen in the late President Richard Nixon, born on January 9, 1913 and Tiger Woods, born on December 30, 1975. Both worked their way to the top and then became overcome with their power – Nixon with ruthless power politics and Woods with too many wordy women who told on him.

Capricorn is born with a goal in mind, which happens to be success and they are willing to hard to get there.

People born this week: Diane Keaton, January 5, 1946; Sun Myung Moon, January 6, 1920; Nicholas Cage, January 7, 2964; David Bowie, January 8, 1947; Kate Middleton, (Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge, wife of Prince William) January 9, 1982; Rod Stewart, January 10, 1945; Naomi Judd, January 11, 1946; Howard Stern, January 12, 1954.

The full moon is in Cancer on Monday, so that means we are now in the days of high emotional response to any event taking place in our lives. It would be wise to watch yourself and what you have to say or you could end up in the middle of a debate that you might not win. The best day this week to accomplish anything would be Saturday before 6 p.m.; otherwise wait until next Thursday after 6 a.m.

Aries (March 21 to April 20) The next week is no time to put your stamp on any long-term goal, since there is a good chance you will change your mind and then you will have to figure a way out. The days before a full moon, which falls on Monday, is no time for an Aries to make any decision.

Taurus (April 21 to May 20) With really good aspects heading your way you could receive good news or a late holiday gift. Accept it with open arms and go from there. There is a secret admirer in your life just waiting for you to notice. This could be the week when you see the writing on the wall.

Gemini (May 21 to June 20) This week it would be fun for you and others if you could fit a few more pals into your social circle. It is full moon time and that is always a period of plenty of emotions and so good for parties. A new face on the scene could promise you some excitement. Get out there.

Cancer (June 21 to July 20) Now that the holiday is over and life gets back to normal it might be good to reorganize your responsibilities and make more time for yourself. A new friend could offer some good advice and it will work well if you take it. Your long suffering at work should come to a halt.

Leo (July 21 to August 20) This week remember that you know more about your needs than anyone, so don’t listen to anyone else. It is time to do your own thing and stop asking for advice when you know more. Watch for a new friend because he should become much more than a friend if you just let it happen.

Virgo (August 21 to September 20) With Mars in Virgo life can’t be dull, but this week emotions are really high and it could be fun to watch out for nonsense. Otherwise you could get caught up in a tangle you really don’t need or want. Just control any impulse to get involved in an argument and the days will be happy.

Libra (September 21 to October 20) Remember, as emotions sometimes get out of control that life has its ups and downs. If you get too emotional now you will be in a down time. Stay cool and don’t give out any advice and the days will fly by and you will still have all your friends. Join a new group by the end of the month. It will be rewarding to you.

Scorpio (October 21 to November 20) This is the week to stay on your present agenda and if change must be made just wait until the full moon on Monday is over. Life should be looking better for you and your long-range goals, but if anything goes wrong try and settle it outside of your usual routine. In other words, don’t get mad – get even.

Sagittarius (November 21 to December 20) Life could appear upside down right now but if you just stay calm and say little it will cool down and then you can have your say. This is not the week to try and put your two cents into any conversation. You will end up on the wrong side unless you are careful. That means say nothing.

Capricorn (December 21 to January 20) If you are interested in meeting some new people this is a fine week to celebrate by inviting some new people into your circle. Parties or a get-together just before the full moon are always lively and offer golden opportunities for new starts. So either organize your own birthday celebration or go join some pals.

Aquarius (January 21 to February 20) Stop listening to nonsense and start moving off in a new direction. If you learned nothing in 2011, know that you learned to like your own company. A new project can start with you right in the middle of it. Just wait until the new moon on January 23 and it will take off beautifully. An old pal could use some good advice. Give her a call and see what you can do.

Pisces (February 21 to March 20) This is no time to speak your mind. There is too much emotional nonsense floating around and you will get caught up in it. So just wait and any problem will take care of itself. In that way you are off the hook and life goes on.
