RUMSON – The Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is holding its second annual tree lighting from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Victory Park.
The day, described as a “Sunday funday,” will feature live Irish music, food, the reading of a proclamation by Mayor John Ekdahl and the lighting of a tree decorated with green lights.
The event is in advance of the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade that will step off at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 9. The parade, which honors the men and women of the armed forces, will feature bagpipe bands, Scouts, floats, Irish step dancers, high school marching bands, antique and classic cars and civic groups. Peter Dawkins will be the grand marshal.
