The Nutcracker Come To Life At The Count Basie Theatre

The Company of Dance Arts brings the timeless holiday classic, The Nutcracker  to the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank on Dec. 10 -11 at 1 and 5 p.m.
The Nutcracker,  set to Tchaikovsky’s celebrated score, has given many thousands their first glimpse of classical ballet as audiences join Clara and her Nutcracker on a magical journey through the Land of Snow and Kingdom of Sweets to meet the Sugarplum Fairy.
The Company of Dance Arts Nutcracker  features the choreography of Peter Anastos, with elaborate Victorian costuming and a Christmas tree that “grows.”

Principals and soloists from New York City dance companies join the cast of over 130, including local children and pre-professional dancers. The leading role of the Sugarplum Fairy will be performed by Tiffany Mako of Toms River and Maritess Escueta of Eatontown. Lauren Masciana (pictured above), 13, of Middletown and Catherine Escuetta, 12 of Eatontown will share the role of Clara. Rayna Ruggeri, 10 of Holmdel and Emily Laughinghouse, 11 of Fair Haven will share the role of Fritz.
