RED BANK – A long-standing borough holiday tradition goes into effect today, courtesy of the Borough Council and Red Bank RiverCenter.
Starting Thursday, Dec. 11 and running until Christmas Day, Dec. 25, visitors to the borough will be spared having to pay for parking in the downtown municipal lots.
The payment suspension does not include on-street parking meters and other parking restrictions continue to apply.
On-street pay parking continues to be free after 6 p.m. daily and on Sundays.
The downtown lots are located on White, Mechanic and Gold streets.
Red Bank RiverCenter, which manages and advocates for the borough’s commercial special improvement district, each year at this time requests the suspension and the borough council approves to encourage visitors and shoppers to the commercial district during the holiday season.
