Two River Theater, Red Bank Flavour Host 'Broadway in Red Bank,' An Night Of Cuisine And Cabaret

RED BANK – The Two River Theater and Red Bank Flavour will host “Broadway in Red Bank,” an evening of cabaret and cuisine on Monday, April 16 at the theater, 21 Bridge Ave.

Starting at 6 p.m., foodies and theater fans will enjoy a 90-minute culinary extravaganza presented by more than a dozen Red Bank restaurants. Following the food tasting, audience members will enjoy a special musical cabaret in Rechnitz Theater featuring performances from Katie Boren (Lysistrata Jones), Miguel Cervantes  American Idiot),Jeff Kready (currently in Two River’s new musical In This House, Billy Elliott), and Kenita R. Miller (Two River’s Honk!, The Color Purple). Performers are subject to change according to availability.
“Two River Theater is very pleased to collaborate with the many wonderful restaurants that are part of Red Bank Flavour on Broadway in Red Bank,” said Artistic Director John Dias. “We are especially happy to be partnering on an event that brings great young Broadway performers to this community. We know that artists love coming to Red Bank, partly because of the town’s vibrancy, and we’re glad to join with Red Bank’s culinary community to help promote that.”

Red Bank businesses participating include: Dish, Cheese Cave, Danny’s Grill and Wine Bar, Front Street Trattoria, Gaetano’s, Readies Café, Siam Garden, Sugarush a Sweet Experience, Taste, Teak, The Bistro at Red Bank, The Boondocks Fishery, The Melting Pot and Via 45.
“Broadway in Red Bank marks an important collaboration between Red Bank Flavour and the town’s theaters, merging the arts and culinary communities to raise awareness of Red Bank as a thriving entertainment and cultural destination,” said Chris Paseka, owner of Sugarush. “We are very excited to be working with Two River Theater to produce this event and hope it is the first of many partnerships.”
There are four ticket options, $75, $100, $150 and $200.The $75 and $100 tickets include a pre-show reception in the Two River Theater lobby, a food tasting from some of Red Bank’s finest restaurants, and tickets to the cabaret. The $150 and $200 tickets include an exclusive pre-show reception in Two River’s Marion Huber Theater from 6 to 7:30 p.m.; vodka, champagne and wine tastings; passed hors d’oeuvres; premier seating in the Rechnitz Theater; and a meet and greet with the artists.
Proceeds will benefit Two River Theater’s Fund for New Work, the Count Basie Theatre and Red Bank Flavour, a culinary-driven campaign that spotlights Red Bank’s restaurants, bars, lounges and eateries.
