SEA BRIGHT – Nearly two years after Super Storm Sandy, the Sea Bright branch of Valley National Bank, located at 1173 Ocean Ave., has reopened for business.
Water and wind damage forced Valley National bank to shutter the branch in the wake of the massive storm. The branch was flooded with at least 2 feet of water while surging winds severely damaged the exterior structure as well.
Despite the extensive damage, Valley made a commitment to the town of Sea Bright that it would work on a remodeling plan that would take nearly two years to finish.
In early September, the branch reopened for business.
Valley remains the only bank serving this small, close-knit shore community.
A special grand reopening celebration was held Monday, Oct. 20, at the branch.
