HIGHLANDS — The Highlands Veterans of Foreign War Post 6902 will get a helping hand on Friday and the public will get a chance to meet HGTV star Tiffany Brooks.
About 30 volunteers representing Verizon; Scripps Networks Interactive, whose media brands include HGTV and DIY Network; and Rebuilding Together, a national charitable organization, will work on repairing the post, located at 331 Bay Ave., which had sustained severe flood damage from Super Storm Sandy last year. The project’s timing is in honor of Monday’s Veteran’s Day holiday.
Brooks, an interior designer and winner of this year’s HGTV Star is scheduled to make an appearance, as are local officials, including Mayor Frank Nolan, Freeholder Director Thomas Arnone and U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone (D-6), who will meet with the volunteers at approximately 11 a.m.
