Celeb-Lentini:vert-2Vito and Dotty Lentini, whose families have lived in Little Silver for many generations, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends in May.
The couple met at the Woolworth’s five-and-dime store in Red Bank after Vito returned home from the Air Force. They were married May 17, 1953, at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Red Bank.
Vito and Dotty attended the River Street School and graduated from Red Bank High School.
After marrying, Vito built the family’s home in Little Silver where the couple raised their three daughters, Karen, Susan and MaryEllen.
Vito was a chief electric lineman for Jersey Central Power & Light Co. for more than 45 years, working in Red Bank and Belford. After he retired, he was a golf starter for Bamm Hollow Country Club in Lincroft.
Dotty has been a member of the Little Silver Women’s Club for many years.
For more than 20 years, Vito and Dotty have spent the winter months in Islamorada, Fla., and Aruba, always returning home to Little Silver.
The couple has barely missed a Sunday Mass since childhood and are known by their family as people of strength, faith, laughter and happiness.
CelebLentini-1Vito and Dotty are the parents of Karen Maurer and her husband Stu of Navesink, Susan Lowe and her husband Bill of Little Silver and MaryEllen Hankins and her husband George of Red Bank. They are the grandparents of Amanda Hilbert and her husband Colten; Tiffani Despo and her husband Christopher; George Hankins and his fiancée Ashley and her daughter, Carol; Marie Hankins; and KymAlexis, Kelsea and Krista Lowe. They are the great-grandparents to Colten Kai and Macie Hilbert and Gavin Despo.
