VNA Annual House Tour Canceled; Contributions Being Sought

RED BANK – VNA of Central Jersey has canceled its annual Holiday House Tour, scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7, because so many in the community are dealing with the devastation around them and experiencing the loss or severe damage of their homes.
After very careful consideration, it was felt that having the event at this time would also put undue strain on community resources including the police who assist with traffic and parking as well as neighborhoods with compromised homes and roadways.
Janice Fannan and Marianne Avigdor, VNA House Tour co-chairs for nearly 10 years, said that, while after 40 years the house tour is one of the highlights of the season, the decision to cancel it this year was a difficult one. However, they believe it was the right decision given the impact of the storm to the area.
Although the house tour was canceled, the tremendous need for VNA Health Group’s services have never been more critical. In lieu of the house tour, VNA Health Group has established ongoing Hurricane Sandy relief efforts at www.vnahg.org and welcomes contributions to assist patients and families impacted by the storm.
