EATONTOWN – The Cancer Support Community will commemorate on National Cancer Survivors Day on Sunday, June 3, with a wellness walk. The event will be held at Thompson Park in Lincroft with 1- and 3-mile options available. Those who don’t want to walk may participate by cheering the walkers. The celebration is for cancer survivors and for anyone that supports or has supported a survivor.
“You will find our celebration event filled with joy, camaraderie, hope, compassion, and love as we honor cancer survivors for their strength and courage,“ said Ilene Winters, founder and executive director. “We will also recognize the many family members, friends, and healthcare providers who are affected by cancer.”
Michele McBride, morning host of WBJB 90.5, is the honorary chair of the event. She will kick-off the walk at 9 a.m., rain or shine, with registration beginning at 8 a.m. Refreshments, entertainment, T-shirts, awards, and a post-walk celebration complete with cake to honor all survivors will be available.
Registration is required. And may be completed at www.cscjerseyshore.org. Awards will be given for largest team, highest fund-raising team, highest fund-raiser and best-dressed team.
