RED BANK – Every year Monmouth Boat Club (MBC) invites Rev. Elmer Jackson and his West Side Christian Academy students to a day on the Navesink.
Last week more than 40 kids came to boat club in the morning for a tour of the facility, an introduction to boating safety and then headed out for a sail with members on cruising boats. For many, it was their first time in a sailboat.
After the sail, more than a dozen MBC members and volunteers hosted a picnic lunch at the club. The event is coordinated by MBC Past Commodore Denis Farley of Monmouth Beach.
