Women in Business Breakfast

448

The Two Rivers Women in Business Consortium is hosting its Monthly Networking Breakfast from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11 at Bingham Hall, 40 Bingham Ave., Rumson.
The event provides an opportunity for women in business to meet, exchange ideas and create supportive alliances with other professionals, either established or in transition.
This month’s featured speaker is Monica Vermeulen, founder/executive director of The Ashley Lauren Foundation. A cancer survivor herself, Vermeulen experienced the pain of having a child with cancer. Her daughter, Ashley Lauren (now 24), was diagnosed with Wilms’ tumor at the age of 3. Having lived through the unexpected hardships of pediatric cancers, Vermeulen realized the importance of support during that difficult time. The Ashley Lauren Foundation offers hope and help to New Jersey children and their families facing pediatric cancer.
Vermeulen graduated summa cum laude/program distinction from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey with a B.A. in Non-Profit Management (Focus-Pediatric Cancer). She served as alumni representative on the Ocean County College Board of Trustees and is president of Phi Theta Kappa, Beta Chapter. Vermeulen is also a director/choreographer and board member of The Guild Theatreworks, Inc.
Contribution is $15 or $20 that includes a $5 donation to The Ashley Lauren Foundation. To RSVP email tworiverswomeninbusiness@gmail.com or call 732-245-7589.
